Surgical Pathology

The Division of Surgical Pathology provides diagnostic services for the University of Mississippi Health Care hospitals and clinics as well as consultation services for referring physicians across the state of Mississippi.

Approximately 25,000 cases are diagnosed each year by a group of highly trained, experienced and dedicated pathologists. We also perform approximately 800 intraoperative consultations per year.

Our pathologists have a wide variety of subspecialty expertise, including genitourinary pathology, thoracic pathology, bone and soft tissue pathology, breast pathology, pediatric pathology, neuropathology, gastrointestinal pathology and hematopathology. The Surgical Pathology faculty members are also involved in numerous research projects, medical and dental school education, and pathology resident training.
